Death Knight PVP Tips

by admin on October 8, 2009

Deathknight’s are a very versatile class. This Deathknight PvP guide should give you a better idea of how to approach fights with other classes.

Deathknight vs Mage

This should be an easy fight, a lot of the Deathknights skills/spells are geared towards shutting mages down. Just keep up you anti-magic shell and anti-magic zone casting and you should be fine. Keep in mind that a Mage will do massive burst damage, so be ready for that with a minor heal or two.

Deathknight vs Paladin

Paladins are a bit of a different story. Right now they’re probably one of the tougher classes you’ll fight as a DeathKnight. Try to keep them at a distance and counter their Hammer of Justice with Icebound Fortitude if you can. The most difficult type is the Retribution Paladin.

Deathknight vs Deathknight

As with most class vs class fights, the winner of the battle will be decided by gear and specialization paths. The goal with a dk vs dk fight is to see who has the more powerful death coil. Also use your pet to micro around your enemy to distract them.

Deathknight vs Rogue

Rogue’s should be a pretty easy fight for a Deathknight. His armor and ability to parry will be your best strengths here. Icebound Fortitude will also be another asset in fighting a Rogue, as this will slow him and also make him visible.

Deathknight vs Shaman

They will be a little more annoying to fight than a Rogue or Mage. The thing that makes Shamans less of a pain though is that they can’t escape from Chains of Ice, which you can use to your advantage. If they try and summon a familiar, just Icy Touch it so you can buy yourself time to recover and heal or attack.
